We are seeking a skilled EHV Operations Engineer to join our dynamic team.
The primary responsibility of the EHV Operations Engineer is to support the execution of construction projects related to assets owned by the company and their associated infrastructure. This role operates under the guidance of the works delivery field unit manager, ensuring that both internal and external projects are delivered effectively.
The engineer will collaborate with project managers, principal designers, investment managers, commissioning engineers, and the works delivery team to ensure the successful and safe execution of the assigned project portfolio.
Your role will involve overseeing capital works construction projects, managing fluid-filled cable faults, and executing the asset portfolio plan and connections as directed by project managers. Additionally, you will supervise the management of substation and cabling projects, providing necessary resources and project management duties for internal delivery projects as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Design Engineers to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of the capital portfolio.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental procedures, as well as operational safety rules.
- Undertake SAP duties for internal delivery projects as agreed upon.
- Maintain and update project documentation as necessary, ensuring accurate records are kept.
- Provide support to regional teams during fault scenarios as requested.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:
- kV SAP authorization, including full Sanction For Test (SFT).
- Proven experience in testing and witnessing the commissioning of high voltage distribution systems.
- Strong skills in fault investigation, location, and repair of EHV fluid-filled cable systems.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement abilities to communicate effectively across all levels.
- Experience in project management for small-scale internal delivery projects.
Travel is a requirement for this role, and candidates must hold a valid driving license.
