Environmental Sustainability Manager

Ward Recycling, an award-winning family business, is seeking an experienced Environmental Sustainability Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the company's environmental and sustainability compliance obligations are met, maintaining ISO 14001:2015 accreditation, and implementing the company's 10-year sustainability roadmap, The Ward Way.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyze data to produce reports and make recommendations to the Board.
  • Contribute to bids and tenders using commercial awareness and excellent communication skills.
  • Represent the company at external events, such as the BMRA Low Carbon Committee and CIWM Waste Regulation SIG.
  • Support the delivery of Ward's ISO Environmental Management System ISO14001:2015.
  • Manage one direct report, the Environment Advisor, and have previous management experience.
  • Liaise with the Environment Agency occasionally and manage the company's energy portfolio.

Requirements:

  • Degree in an environmental discipline.
  • At least 3 years of experience in an Environmental Management or Senior Sustainability role.
  • Experience with reporting through EcoVardis or a similar platform.
  • Experience within the waste and recycling sector is advantageous.
