Job Title: Band 7 Senior Clinical Research Nurse

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Band 7 Senior Clinical Research Nurse to join our team at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. As a key member of our Children's Intensive Care Unit, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our team.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and expanding service, with a new and emerging network developing and a new Children's Hospital being planned. You will be required to work across our two units, providing clinical shifts and managerial cover, and will be an integral member of our well-established and committed team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality patient care, assessing and developing programmes of care to meet individual needs.
  • Act as a lead specialist, interpreting clinical information and making autonomous decisions in the absence of the Matron.
  • Advise the multidisciplinary team on clinical issues, determining how care is delivered and allocating patients to staff.
  • Monitor quality of patient care, participating in regular evaluation and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve performance, working autonomously within the Scope of Professional Practice.
Person Specification
  • Registered Children's Nurse or NMC registered with appropriate experience in the specialty.
  • Post-registration qualifications in PICU and HDU care.
  • Degree-level education in health-related sciences.
  • Recognised NMC teaching and assessing qualification.
  • Advanced Paediatric Life Support Certification.
