About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at Academics Ltd. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with Social Emotional Mental Health needs in a Primary and Secondary education setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with SEMH needs in a classroom setting, promoting their social, emotional, and mental well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans.
  • Provide one-to-one support to pupils, helping them to manage their behavior and engage with learning activities.
  • Assist with the development of learning activities and resources, promoting confidence and independence in pupils.
  • Contribute to the creation of a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging pupils to interact positively with their peers.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teaching Assistant with experience of supporting pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, teachers, and other support staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meeting the needs of pupils.
  • Knowledge of de-escalation techniques and strategies for supporting pupils with challenging behavior.
