About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children and Family Worker to join our Domestic Abuse Support Service at Hestia Housing Support. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing holistic support and empowerment to families affected by domestic abuse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with service users and their children to facilitate goal achievement and empowerment.
  • Provide strengths-based support to families, formulating and implementing individualized support plans in collaboration with external agencies.
  • Advocate on behalf of families, accompanying them to relevant agencies as needed, and providing play sessions for children during term times.
  • Plan and deliver in-house activities and trips during holiday periods, promoting socialization and fun.
  • Support mothers with parenting skills, signposting them to external agencies as required, and addressing issues surrounding domestic abuse.
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with statutory and voluntary organizations, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
  • Report safeguarding incidents promptly to line managers and adhere to relevant policies, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Contribute to the achievement of five key outcome areas: being healthy, staying safe, enjoying and achieving, making a positive contribution, and achieving economic wellbeing.

Requirements

  • Facilitate and deliver direct work supporting families who have experienced domestic abuse.

  • Process and accurately record detailed information, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to relevant frameworks.
  • Employ a solution-focused approach, working constructively and collaboratively towards problem-solving.

  • Exhibit a calm, non-judgmental, and anti-discriminatory approach.
