Pharmaceutical Production Technician - Pharmacy Operations - AfC Band 5
Weekly working hours. Weekdays only. 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Optional weekend shifts. No holiday obligations.We are seeking a dedicated Pharmaceutical Production Technician to become part of our exceptional team at the Pharmacy Operations unit.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to the role, with a preference for those who have experience in technical services. However, we are open to candidates who are newly qualified or lack technical training, as comprehensive training will be provided.
The successful candidate will demonstrate outstanding interpersonal abilities and a proactive mindset.
Our Pharmacy Operations Unit is licensed for 'Specials' manufacturing and holds an Investigational Medicinal Products (IMP) license, preparing, dispensing, and producing a diverse array of products, including monoclonal antibodies, CIVAS, clinical trial materials, and various aseptic and non-sterile formulations.
With numerous exciting advancements on the horizon, we will rely on your expertise, knowledge, and enthusiasm to uphold essential standards and comply with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Communication:
Collaborate with fellow Pharmaceutical Production Technicians and Technical Officers within the Pharmacy Operations. Promote best practices among team members. Liaise with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals regarding products manufactured in the unit. Communicate with Quality Control personnel concerning regulatory standards.Organization and Planning:
Ensure personal validations are maintained according to departmental protocols. Conduct South West Accuracy Assessment for Aseptic Preparation and uphold accreditation for Pre and In Process Checking. Assist in organizing and planning training and development for staff.Patient Care:
Accurately calculate doses, quantities, and expiration dates for prepared medications. Create and verify worksheets and labels for products against prescriptions as necessary. Input patient prescription details into the pharmacy dispensing system to generate required worksheets and labels. Perform checks on raw materials for products, following appropriate training and assessment, ensuring all documentation is completed. Conduct final checks on licensed aseptic and non-sterile batches, following appropriate training.About Us

Knowledge and Experience
Essential
Experience in the preparation of aseptically produced products. Experience working in a fast-paced hospital pharmacy environment. Strong knowledge and understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).Desirable
Experience in non-sterile production. Experience in batch manufacturing. Experience supervising junior staff.Skills and Abilities

BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences / NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent (must be a UK recognized pharmacy technician qualification). Good standard of education. Level 3 Science Manufacturing Technician.Desirable
Evidence of further training as a Pharmaceutical Technician/Science Manufacturing Technician.
