About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Financial Reporting Manager to join our Corporate Finance team at Checkatrade. This is a pivotal role to assist in the delivery of the annual financial statements and audit, as well as all other specialist areas of financial reporting including tax and treasury.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and prepare draft financial statements for all entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Lead key internal and external audit meetings, ensuring the company maintains high levels of compliance.
  • Implement and maintain SOX controls, ensuring robust financial reporting processes.
  • Prepare key accounting papers, liaise with commercial teams, and provide technical guidance on accounting treatments.
  • Critically assess the monthly software resource capitalisation calculation and support the review of captured information.
  • Assist with the review of new lease contracts and support the Financial Accountant with their application.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and project work, supporting the Head of Corporate Finance as needed.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a financial reporting role at a high-growth business.
  • Highly data literate, comfortable working with large unstructured data sets.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with a flair for building and maintaining trust and relationships.
  • Experience in capitalisation of software development is a bonus.
