Position Overview:
Join the Starfyn Recruitment team as a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support Assistant. We are seeking compassionate and dynamic individuals to contribute to a long-term, full-time role within our educational community.

About the Role:
As a SEN Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in fostering the development of students aged 11 to 19 with a primary focus on Autism Spectrum Disorder. Your efforts will help these young individuals achieve their fullest potential through tailored support and innovative teaching methods.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide assistance to students before, during, and after lessons.
  • Facilitate understanding and engagement in educational tasks.
  • Encourage a passion for learning among students.
  • Participate actively in team meetings and collaborative planning.
  • Adhere to safeguarding regulations at all times.
  • Support individual needs, including medical and personal care tasks, with training provided.
  • Work with students on a one-on-one basis or in small groups to enhance learning experiences.
  • Inspire and engage students with diverse learning requirements.
  • Assist with personal care needs, including feeding and mobility support, with training provided by the organization.

Employment Details:
Type: Agency (Long-term, Temporary, or Temporary to Permanent)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM (Full-time)
Compensation: £90 to £95 per day PAYE, Term Time Only (Dependent on experience)

Ideal Candidate Profile:
The successful candidate will ideally possess:
  • Experience in educational settings, such as schools or colleges.
  • Background in childcare, either personally or professionally.
  • Familiarity with special needs through personal connections or professional experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with a caring demeanor.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to engage in various activities.
  • Good foundational knowledge in English and Maths.
  • Flexibility in working patterns.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for learning and making a positive impact.
