Personal Lift and Adaptation Quality Control Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Personal Lift and Adaptation Quality Control Officer to join our team at Gateshead Council. Our team is responsible for delivering a high-quality service to our customers, and we need someone who shares our commitment to excellence.

As a Personal Lift and Adaptation Quality Control Officer, you will work closely with our Mechanical Technical Officer to ensure that our mechanical compliance section is operating in accordance with relevant regulations and standards. This will involve monitoring and reviewing the servicing, remedial, repairs, and removal of personal lifts and other adaptations to ensure full compliance.

We are responsible for the day-to-day repair and maintenance of over 18,000 council-owned homes and various other office, public buildings, and schools across the borough. Our team is committed to providing our customers with the highest quality of service, and we need someone who can help us deliver a sector-leading service.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical compliance and a proven track record of ensuring that systems and processes are operating effectively. You will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring and reviewing the servicing, remedial, repairs, and removal of personal lifts and other adaptations
  • Ensuring full compliance with relevant regulations and standards
  • Working closely with our Mechanical Technical Officer to ensure that our mechanical compliance section is operating effectively
  • Providing technical support and guidance to colleagues as needed

You will also have access to a generous annual leave package, including 28 days (2 of which are fixed), increasing to 30 days (plus 2 fixed) after 5 years continuous local government service.
