Job Title: Pre-Construction Project Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Pre-Construction Project Manager to lead the pre-construction efforts for our Sizewell C nuclear power plant project. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive project strategies and plans, managing and directing a high-performing team, and ensuring collaboration and excellence across all pre-construction activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement project management and construction support strategies to ensure the delivery of Sizewell C on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.
  • Lead and build a high-performing team, defining clear roles, responsibilities, and delivery accountabilities.
  • Foster a collaborative environment between pre-construction programme teams, design teams, and supply chain partners to achieve the best project outcomes.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for pre-construction, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring clear, effective communication.
  • Prioritize safety in all pre-construction activities, ensuring adherence to Nuclear Safety and Industrial Safety standards.
  • Track and report on project progress, managing risks and resolving issues to keep the project on schedule.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory needs through all pre-construction activities.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in developing plans and strategies for the delivery of major complex infrastructure projects in regulated environments.
  • Expertise in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) activities, particularly in a highly regulated, nuclear environment.
  • Extensive experience in delivering large, complex construction projects, with a strong understanding of NEC and FIDIC contracts.
  • Proven ability to build and manage diverse, high-performing teams in an integrated team environment.
  • Knowledge of piping system design, installation, testing, and pressure systems regulations.
  • Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
