Our dedicated team of 22 professionals manages the complete lifecycle of projects, from securing land agreements and grid connections to navigating the complexities of planning and ensuring successful project execution.
Initially focused on the UK market, we have expanded our operations into the Nordic region, with a robust pipeline of 6GW in solar, wind, and battery storage projects.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Land Acquisition Manager will lead a growing team in Glasgow, focusing on securing land agreements essential for the development and execution of renewable energy initiatives, particularly in wind, solar, and energy storage.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Identifying and engaging with landowners to negotiate favorable terms.
- Conducting thorough feasibility assessments for potential sites.
- Negotiating Heads of Terms and overseeing the preparation and registration of land agreements, including leases and wayleaves.
- Mentoring and managing junior team members to foster their professional growth.
- Leading the internal land function and managing relationships with land agents and legal advisors.
- Collaborating closely with planning and engineering teams to ensure project success.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong professional network, a results-driven mindset, and the ability to work autonomously while providing innovative solutions.
Required Skills and Experience
- Degree-level qualification in Land Management, Law, or Planning.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in renewable energy project management, with a focus on solar PV, battery storage, and onshore wind.
- RICS certification is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in land assembly and budget management.
- Proficient in managing agents and legal teams to draft and finalize land agreements.
- Strong knowledge of planning and consent processes.
- Expertise in contract preparation and leading tender negotiations.
- Experience in stakeholder management, including regulators and local communities.
- Ability to manage project teams and budgets effectively.
- Skilled in translating technical information into actionable business insights.
- Excellent multitasking and project prioritization abilities.
