About The Role

The Oval Partnership is seeking a skilled Category Manager to join our team, reporting to the Head of Category. This role will involve working closely with both the NPD and Commercial teams, with a requirement to be office-based for 2-3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage key accounts with regular client meetings to drive category growth and revenue.
  • Build and sustain relationships with key retail contacts across multiple channels, including grocery and convenience stores.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Product Development teams to provide regular insights and trend updates, informing business decisions and driving category growth.
  • Utilize customer research tools to evaluate commercial and development ideas with consumers, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Conduct regular store visits to assess customers' fixtures and ranging, providing recommendations on price, promotion, and positioning.
  • Previous Category Management experience, ideally within Private Label FMCG (Food), is essential for this role.
  • A strong background in customer-facing experience and relationship building is required, with a natural passion for food and product trends.
  • Experience with using Kantar/Nielsen and EPOS data is necessary, as well as the ability to build insightful and compelling stories to inform key business decisions.

Requirements

  • Previous Category Management experience, ideally within Private Label FMCG (Food).
  • Previous customer-facing experience and a history of relationship building.
  • A natural passion for food and product trends, inquisitive about customer behavior, and strong presentation skills.
  • Experience of using Kantar/Nielsen and EPOS data.
  • Ability to build insightful and compelling stories to rationalize key business decisions.
