Education Support Specialist

About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and dedicated teaching and learning supporting assistant to join our team at Uniform Education. As a Teaching Assistant for Secondary-Age Students with Behavioural Needs (SEMH), you will play a vital role in supporting students with challenging behaviours and ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Student Support: Provide targeted support for secondary-age students, helping them engage with the curriculum and develop essential life skills.
- Behaviour Management: Implement strategies to address challenging behaviours and ensure a safe learning environment.
- Collaboration: Work with our team to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral intervention plans (BIPs) tailored to each student's unique needs.
- Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Evaluate student progress and adapt strategies as needed.
- Inclusive Environment: Promote inclusion by accommodating diverse learning needs, providing sensory-friendly spaces, and fostering social interactions among students.
- Safety: Ensure student well-being and manage crises effectively.
- Experience working with secondary-age students or young adults with behavioural needs, especially those from care or adverse backgrounds.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and remain calm in challenging situations.
- Knowledge of behavioural management techniques.
