About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Clinical Research and Audit Assistant at East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support the Clinical Audit and Research Unit in collating and analyzing data to inform clinical practice and improve patient outcomes.
  • Collate and produce reports on mental health data, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Populate data registries and disseminate information to audit leads in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to research projects, working closely with the Head, Deputy Head of CARU, and Research and Evaluation Manager.
Key Duties
  • Implement the Clinical Audit Plan for Mental Health within the Trust, working collaboratively with the team.
  • Use clinical audit data to provide evidence of effective clinical practice.
  • Conduct evidence searches to identify information on the effectiveness of new practices.
  • Manage and analyze complex datasets using spreadsheets, databases, and other software tools.
  • Prepare data from various sources and liaise with research teams to coordinate research within the trust.
  • Check data quality and consistency, investigating discrepancies and taking action to resolve.
  • Reformat and manipulate data as required.
  • Run and disseminate regular activity and performance reports using multiple data sources.
  • Ensure timely and high-quality reports are presented in line with departmental procedure.
  • Attend mandatory training and meetings as required.

Requirements
  • Education to Degree level or equivalent experience
  • Advanced keyboard skills
  • Highly literate and numerate
  • Experience of maintaining accurate data resources
  • Experience of research protocols
  • Advanced experience of using MS Word and MS Excel
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • ECDL
  • Clinical Audit or Research Qualification
  • GCP Certification
  • Experience of using MS Access for data analysis
  • Experience of Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • Experience of PowerBI
Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of Data Protection and Caldicott
  • Some knowledge of medical terminology
  • Excellent IT, literacy, and numeracy skills
  • Knowledge of data analysis and associated software MS Access, MS Excel
  • Understanding of the Trust Clinical Audit Programme, Clinical Performance Indicators, and Ambulance Clinical Quality Indicators
