About the Role

The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maternal Medicine Midwife to lead and support the existing maternal medicine team. This is an exciting opportunity to drive and maintain high-quality standards of midwifery care throughout the Maternity service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide equitable and expert support for women with pre-existing or pregnancy-induced significant medical issues.
  • Ensure the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs of care are maintained to a high standard.
  • Manage the reporting aspects of the Maternal Medicine provision within the unit and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
  • Act as a motivational role model by applying best practice in motivating staff to drive improvements and provide visible leadership on shift in the workplace.

  • Degree in Midwifery
  • Substantial clinical experience with antenatal care
  • Evidence of continued professional development in the area of expertise
  • Knowledge and understanding of the local and national midwifery agenda
