Project Estimator Opportunity at Wood

Wood is currently seeking a skilled Project Estimator to join our Shell EPC Contract team. This role will support the contract across our Projects and Modifications Portfolio, working closely with project management, technical departments, and wider project controls team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, review, and submit accurate estimates of project costs to ensure accurate budgeting and planning.
  • Develop project estimates to the required level of detail and accuracy, in accordance with contractual requirements and Wood policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Support senior members of the estimating team in the management and development of the estimating team, contract or project estimating norms, and preparation and filing of project estimate documentation.
  • Act as a focal point for several project scopes, working with the wider team to identify areas of best practice and drive continuous improvement within the Estimating team.
Requirements:
  • Typically requires an ISCED level 6 (Bachelors) Degree in a relevant technical or business discipline (or equivalent gained through relevant vocational training and/or industry experience).
  • Progressive industry experience in estimating positions, with a thorough knowledge of estimating techniques and systems.
  • Excellent understanding of project management principles and techniques, including Cost Management, Change Control, Planning & Risk Analysis & Management.
  • Prior experience in a Senior Estimating role, with strong analytical skills and ability to use estimating methods.
