About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Funeral Service Operative to join our team at Dignity Funeral Directors. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional support to our Funeral Directors and ensure that our clients receive the highest level of care and dignity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of our funeral fleet, ensuring that vehicles are clean and well-presented at all times.
  • Participate in coffining duties, including trimming coffins/caskets and dressing the deceased as required.
  • Support the Funeral Director with pre-funeral checks, including route planning and address verification.
  • Be part of the funeral service by bearing the coffin and driving company vehicles as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to meet the needs of our clients, being mobile and flexible to ensure excellent service delivery.

Requirements
  • Full UK manual driving license.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy weights in accordance with manual handling procedures.
  • Familiarity with the local community (ideally).
  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service.
  • Composure and empathy in sensitive situations.
  • Reliability, good presentation, and a focus on high standards in the job role.
