Qube, a pioneering members' club for music and content creators, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Bartender to lead the operations of our members-only bar in our new south London venue.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service, managing bar operations, and leading a team of bartenders. They will be responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the bar, working closely with senior management and team members to ensure that the highest level of customer service is being delivered and the expectations of our members are consistently exceeded.
The Head Bartender will also be the point of contact and Duty Manager at all events, working with the General Manager to liaise with clients ahead of time and deliver these events on the ground. They will be responsible for training and leading a tight-knit bar team, and will have the ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of cocktail preparation and bar management, excellent customer service skills, and a friendly and approachable demeanor. They will also have a passion for music and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bar Management:
- Oversee the general day-to-day management and operation of the bar.
- Maintain a safe, orderly, and sanitized bar environment.
- Establish strong and professional relationships with our members, ensuring that excellent service is delivered at all times.
- Event Duty Management:
- Work alongside the General Manager ahead of events to prepare event briefs and understand the bar/service needs for each event.
- Help maintain and train a high service and efficient roster of freelance bar staff to work events alongside you.
- Liaise with clients on the ground at each event, accommodating their needs and leading your team to exceed expectations.
- Stock and Inventory:
- Receive deliveries for stock and inventory as needed.
- Place orders for inventory based on business needs and budgets.
- Maintain bar stock and report shortages to the General Manager for ordering, including variables like glasses and equipment.
- Customer Service:
- Address any complaints confidently and find appropriate solutions.
- Ensure the correct measurements and other license regulations are being followed by the team.
- Work alongside the General Manager to create new cocktails and drink offerings in line with the company brand.
- Operate as Events Lead and point of contact throughout all events.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all legal requirements are adhered to, including Wage and Hour/Breaks, Health and Safety, etc.
- Light Food Service:
- Assist with some light food service as required, such as prepping small plates, no kitchen experience necessary.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience as a Head Bartender or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of cocktail preparation and bar management.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A passion for music and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
- Personal License-holder desirable.
- A Food & Hygiene Level 2 certificate would be beneficial though training and qualifications will be provided for the right candidate.
