Job Description

Positive Employment is currently recruiting multiple lawyers for our client, a local government organisation based in the London Borough of Merton.

Job Summary

We are seeking experienced lawyers to join our team as Housing Litigation Lawyers. The successful candidates will have a strong background in local government and experience in managing a complex workload relating to housing management issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of housing litigation matters, including prosecutions and disrepair claims.
  • Deal with a wide range of housing management issues, including knowledge of pre-action protocols in possession claims, succession claims, and non-occupation/subletting.
  • Provide expert advice on housing management issues and draft contracts and other legal documents as required.
Requirements
  • Qualified solicitor or barrister or chartered legal executive or equivalent legal experience with a background in local government.
  • Good knowledge of relevant legislation to the service area and the decision-making processes and procedures.
  • Good understanding of current issues and best practice on service delivery relevant to the service areas.
Working Arrangements
  • Working hours: 9:00am - 17:00pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Pay: £50.00 per hour.

Please note that this role is within the scope of IR35.
