Career Teachers is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Hackney. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs, working closely with the class teacher and therapy teams to ensure each child progresses towards their goals.
Key Responsibilities- Support students with mild to severe learning difficulties, verbal and non-verbal communication techniques, physical disabilities, and sensory impairment.
- Work alongside the class teacher and therapy teams to develop and implement individualized support plans.
- Assist with personal care and participate in all tasks, demonstrating a willingness to learn and adapt.
- Collaborate with the medical team and therapy team to ensure comprehensive support for students.
- Strong understanding of the requirements to support pupils with additional needs.
- Experience supporting young people with SEN is advantageous.
- Training in PECS, Makaton, manual handling, and hoisting is desired but not essential.
- Adaptability, motivation, and the ability to take initiative are essential.
