Role Overview:

As a Gas Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the effective maintenance of property services through both planned and reactive maintenance, adhering to budgetary and quality standards aligned with the company's operational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections, diagnose issues, replace components, and perform repairs on heating and hot water systems.
  • Carry out investigations related to emissions.
  • Perform heat loss assessments.
  • Conduct surveys for boiler replacements or system upgrades, including quality checks of completed tasks.
  • Test and commission equipment.
  • Execute gas servicing tasks.
  • Test smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.
  • Complete job sheets and daily logs, as well as weekly time sheets.
  • Adhere to safe working practices to ensure the safety of both staff and the public.
  • Engage with stakeholders to deliver high-quality service and achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Meet planned commitments to clients, ensuring that KPIs and service levels are consistently met.
  • Provide technical support and guidance.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff.
  • Maintain a high standard of customer service in all interactions.
  • Participate in toolbox talks.
  • Comply with the company's Health & Safety Policy at all times.
  • Perform additional duties as required by management, including vehicle maintenance and reporting malfunctions promptly.

Candidate Profile:

To qualify for the Gas Engineer position, candidates should possess the following qualifications and experience:

Qualifications:

  • ACS / Gas Safe certification with demonstrable relevant experience.
  • Certifications: CCN1, CPA1, CKR1, HTR1, CENWAT.
  • Knowledge of Energy Efficiency.
  • Experience with Unvented Hot Water systems.
  • Familiarity with Heat Interface Units (HIU) and Heat Pumps.
  • Experience with gas fires and cylinders.
  • Knowledge of Heat Recovery Units (HRU).

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in gas servicing.
  • Proven experience as a qualified heating/gas service engineer in communal or domestic settings.
  • Proficient in using and training others on PDA devices.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in all aspects of gas systems, including wiring.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
  • Possession of a valid full clean driving license is essential.
