Gordon Murray Group is seeking a highly skilled Production Technician to join our team in the UK. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for ensuring the production of high-quality vehicles across all models undertaken by Gordon Murray Automotive.
Key Responsibilities- Establish strong relationships with team members at all levels, focusing on teamwork and inclusion.
- Collaborate closely with the GMA team, particularly with Manufacturing Engineering team members.
- Operate machinery on a low-volume production line.
- Conduct quality checks for defects, label finished products, and ensure accurate allocation of parts.
- Load and unload parts, and assemble components while maintaining a high level of efficiency.
- Work towards achieving production targets and support Cycle Time change planning, line rebalancing, trials, and training activities.
- Support new model activities and accurately record data into the build book/log, including torque and serial number recording.
- Maintain adherence to Standard Operating Procedures, identifying and prescribing corrective measures to improve processes.
- Support shop safety initiatives and implement timely countermeasures to resolve problems.
- Participate in problem-solving activities within the team and identify waste in assembly processes to improve efficiency.
- Be available to work overtime and travel as needed.
- Collaborate with GMA/GMA Engineering members to continuously improve the manufacturing process.
- Basic computer literacy, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as strong communication skills to effectively liaise with others.
- Perform general housekeeping duties as required.
- Ability to read and understand Engineering drawings.
- 5 years of relevant automotive experience at an appropriate company or OEM.
- Experience with full product life-cycle activities and ability to achieve Quality, Cost, and Delivery targets for production.
- Experience in low-volume automotive manufacturing is preferred.
- Understanding of different assembly processes and equipment.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet strict production targets.
- Proficiency in cross-functional, cross-company, and cross-sectional processes.
- Clear and effective communication skills with internal and external clients.
- Must be a team player who can work closely with GMA manufacturing engineering team.
- Ability to support problem-solving activities within an automotive assembly environment.
- Possess a full UK driver's license.
