Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to health, safety, and environmental protocols, ensuring all tasks are executed with a focus on cleanliness and reporting any defects or issues.
  • Engage in risk assessments, ensuring they are current and relevant to daily operations.
  • Strive for optimal performance of control systems, ensuring safe operation in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Assist the Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor in managing maintenance schedules, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Communicate necessary precautions for electrical work, including cleaning or flushing requirements and testing before commencing tasks.
  • Oversee the disposal of company waste, identifying new disposal methods that comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Ensure all installations meet legislative requirements and company standards, conducting necessary testing and calibrations prior to handover.
  • Analyze and interpret data to troubleshoot and resolve plant issues.
  • Provide timely feedback on activities, including faults, breakdowns, and alarms through appropriate reporting channels.
  • Contribute positively to the performance objectives of the engineering and production departments.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems with relevant experience in troubleshooting and installation.
  • Certifications in hazardous area operations (CompEx) and familiarity with wiring regulations (17th edition) are preferred.
  • Experience working within top-tier CoMAH regulations, including relevant environmental and health and safety legislation.
  • Familiarity with various control systems and software packages, including PLC logic, is advantageous.
