Tax Strategist for Complex Transactions

KPMG's Deal Advisory Tax Team is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Tax Manager to join our dynamic team. We provide market-leading tax advisory services to both Financial and Corporate investors across the UK and internationally.

Our clients range from private equity, infrastructure, and real estate funds to institutional investors, FTSE 100 and 250 businesses, mid-market corporates, and PE funds. We work on a diverse range of transactions, including buy-side due diligence and structuring, sell-side vendor assist and due diligence, refinancing, and listing support.

Your Role:

  • Collaborate closely with Partners and Directors on complex transactions to deliver exceptional advice and service.
  • Contribute to the pursuit of new opportunities by developing proposals and participating in pitches.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, legal advisors, and other KPMG teams to ensure effective delivery.
  • Mentor and develop colleagues, fostering a collaborative and learning-oriented environment.
  • Prepare detailed technical advice covering a range of UK and international tax issues.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of tax-related documents and data, highlighting key issues and articulating their commercial impact to clients.
  • Collaborate with other UK and overseas tax specialists, critically analyzing and challenging their input.
  • Stay abreast of the latest UK and OECD tax developments.
  • Understand financial models from a tax perspective.
  • Contribute to Deal Advisory Tax thought leadership initiatives.

Your Profile:

  • Qualified CTA or ACA/CA or equivalent.
  • Ambitious, enthusiastic, and a genuine interest in working on transactions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Solid UK corporate tax knowledge and a good understanding of other tax and accounting matters.
  • Strong analytical skills, a curious mindset, and a commercial approach to resolving issues and providing advice.
  • Proven project management skills, including the ability to work effectively as part of a team and demonstrate initiative to drive projects forward.
  • Ability to build relationships with clients and other stakeholders.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
