Job Title: Advanced Practitioner/Paramedic

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practitioner/Paramedic to join our team at Farnham Integrated Care Services Limited. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support the delivery of our Urgent Same Day Care Service.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be a registered Paramedic with postgraduate qualifications, including the Independent and Supplementary Prescriber qualification and HCPC registration. You will work autonomously, making professionally accountable decisions and referring patients to alternative care settings or treating and discharging as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat patients within the defined list of conditions
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to meet patient needs
  • Support the delivery of quality patient services in conjunction with the daily duty doctor
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships across the PCN to enable collaboration for better patient outcomes
  • Support network implementation of agreed service changes and pathways
Person Specification:
  • Registered Paramedic with postgraduate qualifications
  • Minimum of two years' experience as an Advanced Paramedic
  • Appreciation of the nature of GPs and urgent care centres
  • Knowledge of primary care prescribing and concepts of rational prescribing
  • Awareness of telephone triage assessment and management of common minor injuries/illnesses
  • Clinical examination skills and knowledge of needs of patients with long-term conditions
  • Ability to communicate complex and sensitive information effectively
  • Willingness to work flexibly to deliver safe and effective healthcare
Desirable:
  • Experience of clinical governance, including audit
  • Knowledge of PCN and excellent interpersonal, influencing, and negotiation skills
  • Clear, polite telephone manner and good clinical system IT knowledge
  • Ability to promote best practice regarding all pharmaceutical matters
