Cardiologist with Expertise in Interventional Cardiology

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Cardiologist with a strong interest in Interventional Cardiology to join our team at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality cardiac services to our patients.
Main ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a high volume of coronary interventions and diagnostic cardiac catheterisations annually. They will work closely with our team of interventional cardiology colleagues to provide a comprehensive range of standard and advanced coronary interventional procedures. The post holder will also participate in a 1 in 9 on-call rota for acute interventional cardiology and a 1 in 17 rota for acute general cardiology.
About the RoleThis is a full-time position, but consideration will be given to applicants who require flexible working arrangements. The successful candidate will be expected to take a lead role in the rapid access chest pain service and participate in clinical audit and research activities. They will also be encouraged to pursue sub-specialty interests, including TAVI.
RequirementsTo be considered for this role, applicants must be on the GMC Specialist Register or be a Specialist Registrar within six months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT/CESR(CP). They must also have a broad training and experience in the practice of clinical cardiology, including interventional cardiology. The ideal candidate will have effective communication skills, evidence of effective team and multidisciplinary working, and a recognised ability as a clinical cardiologist and interventional cardiologist.
