About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at The Sheffield College. As a key member of our Additional Learning Support Team, you will play a vital role in supporting students with a wide range of learning difficulties and disabilities.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Support students across various curriculum areas and subjects, promoting engagement and inclusivity.
  • Work closely with students to identify and address barriers to learning, ensuring equal access to education.
  • Collaborate with teachers and tutorial mentors to develop and implement personalized support plans.
  • Provide support and guidance to students during break and lunchtimes, as well as assisting with morning and afternoon routines.
  • **Additional Responsibilities:**
    • Support students with intimate care needs, ensuring their safety and well-being.
    • Work with colleagues to develop and implement strategies to promote student engagement and motivation.

**Requirements:**

  • Experience working with students with learning difficulties and disabilities.
  • Knowledge of SEND support and adult provisions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • **Desirable Skills:**
    • Knowledge of equality and diversity principles.
    • Ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions.
