Role Overview

Criterion Capital Head Office is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the Senior Quantity Surveyor in managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. As a key member of the project management team, you will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed within the allocated budget and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and management of project budgets and cost plans.
  • Conduct cost analysis and draw up reports to identify areas for cost savings.
  • Assist in the preparation of tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
  • Evaluate tenders from contractors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Support in managing costs on a wide variety of cut and carve and fit-out projects.
  • Assist in the identification, analysis, and response to commercial risks.
  • Work closely with the project management team to ensure the timely delivery of projects within budget.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of subcontract interim valuations and final accounts.
  • Monitor and keep track of project progress and measure the work done on site.
  • Liaise with various stakeholders, such as site managers, project managers, and site engineers.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly cost reports.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual with a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Previous experience in a similar role is essential, as is strong numerical and IT skills, especially with MS Excel and construction software. Excellent communication and negotiation skills are also required, as well as attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Ability to work as part of a team and independently is essential.
