Purpose of Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Reinsurance Specialist to join our team at Lawes Consulting Group. As a Reinsurance Technician Lead, you will play a key role in leading and assisting in the retention and development of our clients' portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaising with brokers and underwriters to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
- Providing broker support through interaction with the broker team, preparing renewal statistics, and creating forms, spreadsheets, and bordereaux.
- Assisting with all aspects of providing support to prepare slips, bordereaux, creation of policies slips, and endorsements as required.
- Dealing directly with clients by phone and email, ensuring that all correspondence is dealt with promptly and efficiently.
- Corresponding on a regular basis with overseas insurers to ensure timely and accurate communication.
- Maintaining company databases, including a physical filing system, to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
- Processing premium and claims on Lirma/Xchanging, and responsible for the collection and management of outstanding debt as per agreed procedures.
- Responsible for the balancing of cashbooks for premium bank accounts, and rendering statements in a timely fashion.
- Allocating receipts and payments posted, investigating differences, and liaising with the technical team and brokers.
- Ensuring payment requests are prepared accurately and efficiently, and reviewing bank reconciliations daily to deal with queries.
- Maintaining and monitoring the Insurers log on a regular basis, and producing month-end bordereau for review and submission to carriers.
Requirements:
Essential:
- Must have 2+ years' experience within Reinsurance.
- Must have previous experience in slip production.
Preferred:
- Ideally have had previous exposure to working within the Caribbean, Latin American, and North African Reinsurance Markets.
- Insurance qualifications are desired - full support provided.
