We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Functional Skills Maths Tutor to join our team at a correctional facility. As a Maths Tutor, you will play a vital role in enhancing the mathematical understanding of learners, from basic education levels up to Level 2, with the aim of increasing employability and reducing re-offending through rehabilitation.
Key Responsibilities:- Teach learners to enhance their basic education in mathematics up to Level 2.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate activities and courses tailored to learners' needs.
- Challenge negative behaviour and foster increased self-esteem through positive role modelling.
- Deliver both accredited and non-accredited courses in Functional Skills Maths, and occasionally English.
- Utilise innovative teaching methods to engage and motivate learners.
- Regularly assess and record learners' progress, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs.
- Full teaching qualification required (minimum of CTLLS, PGCE, or equivalent; candidates working towards these qualifications may also be considered).
- Proven experience in delivering Functional Skills Maths in a classroom setting.
- Strong motivational skills and the ability to engage challenging learners.
- Must be able to gain, hold, and maintain a clean, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
- Demonstrated ability to innovate and a strong sense of self-motivation.
