Position Overview

Blackfield Associates is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Specialist to enhance our engineering team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the operational efficiency of our systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on instrumentation, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Address urgent breakdowns swiftly and adhere to maintenance schedules.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Workshop Supervisor to refine maintenance strategies.
  • Document all maintenance activities meticulously and prepare necessary reports.
  • Engage in minor projects, including the design, installation, and commissioning of systems.
  • Explore innovative and cost-effective solutions while maintaining safety and quality.
  • Manage inventory of materials and components, ensuring timely restocking.
  • Prioritize safety and promptly address any potential hazards.
  • Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders to minimize disruptions and keep everyone updated on progress.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a formal Electrical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent.
  • Experience as an electrical technician in a comparable setting post-apprenticeship.
  • City and Guilds accreditation or equivalent in a secondary engineering discipline is preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of engineered systems and maintenance practices.
  • Familiarity with industry principles and controlled environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficient in documentation and report generation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
  • Highly safety-oriented, responsive, and dedicated to excellence.
  • A proactive team player with a self-motivated approach.
