Job Overview:

Our client, a leading engineering solutions provider, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Maintenance Engineer to join their team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation and safety of critical infrastructure within rail depots.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct routine inspections, servicing, and preventative maintenance on depot equipment, including electrical shutter doors, rail carriage wash plants, controlled emission toilet (CET) extraction systems, fluid and fuel storage/dispensing systems, and associated pumps, motors, valves, and mechanical equipment.
  2. Perform regular checks on mechanical and electrical systems, including pumps, motors, valves, and control panels, to ensure they are in optimal working condition.
  3. Adhere to scheduled maintenance tasks as per manufacturer recommendations and company protocols to minimize downtime and maximize equipment life.

Requirements:

  1. Recognized engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  2. Proven experience in maintaining and repairing industrial equipment, ideally in a rail depot, manufacturing, or similar environment.
  3. Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including motors, pumps, and control systems.
