Cost Estimation Specialist – Premier Facilities Management Provider


Our esteemed client, a prominent Facilities Management provider in the UK, is actively seeking a Cost Estimation Specialist to become an integral part of their established engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the bidding and resource coordination process, involving both direct and indirect personnel management.
  • Develop innovative strategies to meet client specifications.
  • Maintain industry awareness to stay informed about competitors' methodologies.
  • Prepare and compile proposal submissions, including solution and option evaluations for new methods of Facilities Management service delivery.
  • Adopt a proactive approach to enhance communication, management practices, and systems to maximize profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Implement 'best practices' through collaboration with external organizations and other divisions.
  • Standardize practices across the division to ensure meaningful commercial and operational data is established.
  • Utilize the client’s Estimating software to validate bid accuracy.
  • Gather specialist subcontractor pricing.
  • Interpret client requests and documentation effectively.
  • Formulate bids based on Business Development Manager briefs as necessary.
  • Conduct labor loading of asset information.
  • Participate in site visits as needed during the bidding process.
  • Assist in drafting correspondence and documentation.
  • Update the Pipeline Reporting System and contribute to the generation of Business Development management reports.
  • Attend divisional bid meetings.
  • Monitor the progress of submitted tenders.
  • Assist in the preparation of tender returns.
  • Establish agreed performance benchmarks.
  • Measure performance against contractual obligations.
  • Identify a variety of cost-saving initiatives in alignment with contractual commitments.
  • Engage with client organizations as necessary, providing insightful reports and proactive data.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Commercial Manager.
Qualifications:

  • Educated to HNC/HND standard (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated management experience.
  • Possess a relevant qualification in quantity surveying (degree level preferred).
  • Experience in a Quantity Surveyor capacity.
  • Relevant estimating experience within the Facilities Management sector.
  • Experience in an SFG20 environment is advantageous.
  • Proficient in IT skills, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Compensation & Benefits:

Competitive salary of approximately £55,000
