Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Design Manager to join our team at Kingston Barnes Ltd. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading the development of technically sound and commercially viable design packages for standard applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement design strategies to meet customer needs and company objectives.
- Lead a team of electrical and mechanical design engineers to ensure high-quality designs that meet customer expectations and company standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide integrated solutions and promote a team-based mentality.
- Develop and maintain standard design packages and technical documentation for products.
- Oversee control panel design and optimize the use of design resources.
- Monitor design output and assembly costs, and implement improvements as needed.
- Recruit temporary staff or outsource activities to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Evaluate training needs of employees and provide guidance on professional development.
Requirements
- You will hold an HNC/HND or higher in an engineering discipline and have a management position in the relevant field.
- Be competent in reading and reviewing engineering drawings and technical specifications, and have working knowledge of CAD.
- You will have experience in both design and fabrication of machinery/equipment.
- You hold a clean UK driving license.
