About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to join our dynamic research team within the Biology & Biotechnology Department at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research focused on understanding the intricacies of cell division.
Your Responsibilities
- Contribute to a research program investigating the causes and consequences of defects in cell division through various laboratory techniques.
- Utilize mammalian cell culture, PCR, molecular cloning, DNA/RNA extraction, and fluorescence microscopy to advance research objectives.
- Receive comprehensive training and mentorship in experimental design, data analysis, and scientific communication.
- Actively participate in lab meetings and present research findings to the team.
- Maintain accurate records, manage laboratory supplies, and ensure the proper upkeep of equipment.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Biology or a related field is required.
- Prior research experience is beneficial but not mandatory, as hands-on training will be provided to the right candidate.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks.
