Smurfit Westrock Weston Super Mare, a leading producer of corrugated packaging, is seeking a highly skilled Despatch Team Leader to join their team. As a key member of the Despatch Department, you will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day operation of the department, reporting directly to the Transport and Despatch Manager.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and motivating Shift 2 in all aspects of their work
  • Ensuring Health and Safety and Quality standards are maintained and developed
  • Developing and training all members within the department
  • Completing audits and delivering toolbox talks
  • Managing pallet levels in the Main Warehouse

The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to evolve and adapt to the company's changing needs. They will also be able to build key relationships across departments to ensure a smooth transition throughout the supply chain.

Key skills required include:

  • FLT experience and a strong understanding of despatch processes
  • Logical thought process
  • Ability to work alone as well as part of a structured team
  • Ability to make calculated prompt decisions under pressure
  • Flexible and adaptable attitude
  • Strong & effective communicator with good people skills
  • Keen attention to detail
