Join Our Team as a Workshop Manager

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Workshop Manager to lead our production team in creating high-quality bespoke spectacles. As a key member of our operations team, you'll be responsible for managing the production process, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the production of bespoke and bespoke+ orders, including frame making, assembly, and quality control
  • Create small commercial runs of frames and manage the production of prototypes, samples, and experimental frames
  • Oversee the production of technical drawings and CNC drawings, and operate equipment such as in-house CNC machines and lasercutters
  • Recruit, train, and develop the workshop team, including managing rotas and resource requirements
  • Manage frame repairs and 'rehab' services, as well as frame matting, nosepad additions, and other adjustments
  • SOURCE materials and machinery to develop the workshop
  • Train others on making spectacles, including frame making classes to the general public
  • Produce regular reports for the rest of the team
  • Catalogue and photograph all frames that come through the workshop to create a long-term permanent archive

Requirements:

  • Excellent experience in CNC and modern production methods
  • Strong experience in 3D CAD, such as Rhino, Autodesk Fusion 360, and Solidworks
  • Effective team builder with a passion for quality and attention to detail
  • Problem-solving mindset and dynamic approach to efficiency and improvement
  • Self-starter with plenty of energy and outstanding communication skills
  • Impeccable eye for design and detail, and high-quality standards

Contract: Full-time, 40 hours. Based in our HQ, Brewery Road, King's Cross.

Salary: Manager Level 1-3 depending on experience. £36,420-£41,119.
