Crude Oil Fundamentals Strategist

We are seeking a driven professional to join our Trading organization as a Crude Oil Fundamentals Strategist. This role involves continually analyzing oil fundamentals and understanding market trends to develop an in-house view of global oil balances and price.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in crude and/or refined products market fundamentals, with a strong preference for European oil market fundamentals.
  • Proven modelling capabilities, including building and maintaining complex models using Python, R, SQL, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of data mining, modeling, and data analysis methods, including developing a global oil supply and demand balance with a focus on Northwest Europe.
  • Highlight trading opportunities rooted in advanced analytical methods and supply and demand fundamental analysis.
  • Develop and maintain a flow of proactive information exchange with colleagues of the analytics team and trading desks across geographies and commodities.
  • Contributing to tool improvements, data gathering, and management to optimize quality and efficiency of analysis.
  • Preparation of ad hoc material and presentations for management when required.
Location and Other Key Details:
  • Based in our London Trading Office, located at 10 Brook Street W1.
  • Regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs.
  • Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based on years of experience and scope of work.
