Role Responsibilities

The successful candidates will:

  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean learning environment, ensuring that all resources are prepared and utilized effectively to assist students in achieving their educational goals.
  • Support teachers in delivering engaging learning activities while ensuring the health and safety of all students, including during off-site excursions.
  • Facilitate student access to learning opportunities as directed by educators, promoting progress towards individual learning objectives.
  • Provide administrative support, including documentation and record-keeping related to student learning and behavior management.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including therapists, to implement tailored learning programs for each student.
  • Adhere to all policies regarding child protection, health, safety, and confidentiality, promptly reporting any concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Contribute positively to the overall mission of the school, working alongside colleagues to achieve developmental goals.
  • Engage in professional development activities and training sessions to enhance personal skills and knowledge.
  • Implement behavior management strategies for students facing significant learning or emotional challenges, ensuring their well-being and educational needs are met.
Candidate Requirements

Applicants should possess:

  • Prior experience working with children with special educational needs.
  • Basic technological proficiency in an educational context (e.g., computer, photocopier).
  • Familiarity with child protection policies and procedures, as well as health and safety regulations.
  • The ability to connect with children and adults, demonstrating understanding and responsiveness to their needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to encourage positive social interactions among students.
  • A First Aid qualification is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • The legal right to work in the UK.
  • An Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service or a willingness to obtain one.
  • Two professional references covering the last two years of employment.
