About the Role

We are seeking dedicated individuals to fill the role of SEN Support Assistant in a reputable educational institution. This role focuses on providing exceptional educational support and care for students aged 10-19 with diverse needs, including Autism and Asperger's Syndrome. The ideal candidate will be a Level 1-2 SEN Support Assistant, committed to fostering a nurturing learning environment.

Your Responsibilities

As a SEN Support Assistant, you will be instrumental in promoting the academic and personal growth of students. Your role will involve supporting their educational journey and well-being, ensuring they can achieve their full potential in a safe and encouraging atmosphere. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the planning and evaluation of educational activities.
  • Providing constructive feedback on student progress and achievements.
  • Monitoring, assessing, recording, and reporting on students' development in accordance with school policies.
  • Encouraging positive behavior and focus, adapting your strategies as necessary.
  • Promoting the spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development of students.
  • Supporting the holistic development of students through a comprehensive curriculum.
  • Demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to assist in a dynamic educational environment.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience in a SEN role, whether through employment or voluntary work.
  • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle (essential for student transport).
  • Recognized Level 2 or higher qualification in Support Work for Teaching and Learning in Schools (desirable).
  • GCSE Maths and English Level 2/C or above (essential).
  • Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection protocols.
  • Experience working with students with SEN or SEMH/ASD.
  • A child-centered approach, recognizing the individuality of each student.
  • Creativity and positivity in addressing students' needs.
