Purpose of the Role

As a Careers Guidance Specialist, you will play a vital role in helping individuals achieve their career aspirations. You will provide impartial information, advice, and guidance to customers across various age groups and backgrounds, utilizing diverse delivery methods such as face-to-face interactions, online platforms, and telephone support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver personalized career guidance sessions to individuals seeking support in exploring their options, identifying skills gaps, and developing action plans.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand customers' needs, interests, and aspirations.
  • Provide up-to-date information on employment opportunities, training programs, and industry trends.
  • Utilize technology effectively to enhance the customer experience and track progress.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a seamless and supportive service delivery.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Hold, as a minimum, Level 4 Diploma in Careers Information and Advice or NVQ 4 in Advice & Guidance, or be willing to obtain the qualification within a specified timeframe.
  • Demonstrate proven experience in delivering career advice to adults, both employed and unemployed, in individual and group settings.
  • Possess strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exhibit proficiency in using ICT tools and technologies, including social media platforms for professional purposes.
