London, Greater London, United Kingdom Sainsbury's Full time

Why Work with Us

At Sainsbury's, the role of a Senior Project Manager within the Construction and Delivery Team places you at the forefront of our significant investment initiatives. You will be immersed in a vibrant and fast-paced atmosphere where your contributions can profoundly influence our property development projects. We are committed to executing customer-centric initiatives that meet the highest benchmarks of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. This position provides the chance to manage intricate projects, collaborate with diverse teams, and engage with key stakeholders, allowing you to play a pivotal role in the evolution of our facilities. We offer extensive personal development opportunities, continuous training, and the ability to enhance your project management expertise. If you are driven by challenges, excel in teamwork, and are passionate about achieving successful results, we welcome you to explore this opportunity with us.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Project Manager at Sainsbury's, you will oversee and execute multi-million-pound property transformation projects throughout our network, which include store enhancements and the establishment of new supermarkets and local fulfilment centres. Your responsibilities will encompass the comprehensive management of property-related change initiatives, ensuring compliance with timelines, budgets, quality standards, and safety regulations while adhering to legal and statutory obligations. You will manage various project elements, including health and safety protocols, minimizing customer disruption, resolving potential challenges, developing high-quality project plans, and providing technical guidance in partnership with consultants and internal teams. Furthermore, you will oversee capital and operational expenditures, prepare project documentation, maintain effective communication with stakeholders, and mitigate risks throughout the investment lifecycle. Your role will also involve indirect leadership of external contractors and suppliers, stakeholder engagement, and staying informed about industry trends and advancements. Through your expertise and robust project management capabilities, you will facilitate successful project outcomes while leading cross-functional teams and making strategic decisions within governance frameworks.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal Senior Project Manager is seasoned in managing complex projects with a strong commercial perspective. You approach challenges logically and systematically, consistently delivering well-organized and thoughtful projects that adhere to time, cost, quality, and safety standards. Your proficiency in managing multiple outsourced service providers and leading cross-functional project teams enables you to influence and hold them accountable for their performance. You possess exceptional stakeholder management abilities, fostering effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders at senior levels. With strong commercial insight and budget management skills, you rigorously assess costs and ensure financial control throughout the investment process. Your resilience, adaptability, and capacity to positively engage and motivate colleagues during periods of change make you an invaluable asset in a dynamic environment.

We prioritize an inclusive workplace where everyone is welcomed, regardless of background. Here, you will have opportunities to explore new roles, whether within an evolving team or across different areas of the business. We take professional development seriously and are committed to supporting your growth. We also recognize and celebrate colleagues who go above and beyond, and where feasible, we offer flexible working arrangements. Upon joining our organization, you will have access to an impressive range of benefits, including:

- A colleague discount of 10% on shopping online and in-store, with opportunities for increased discounts throughout the year.
- A comprehensive pensions scheme and life insurance coverage.
- Eligibility for a performance-related bonus of up to 20% of your salary, contingent on company performance.
- An annual holiday allowance with the option to purchase additional leave, along with private healthcare.
- Additional financial benefits such as season ticket loans, interest-free car loans, a cycle-to-work scheme, health cash plans, and salary advances.
- Support for significant life events, including up to 26 weeks' pay for maternity or adoption leave and up to 4 weeks' pay for paternity leave.

We understand the importance of moments that matter, which is why we provide generous leave policies and a supportive environment for all our employees.
