Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled individual to become a vital part of the Performance and Analysis Service (PAS) at Sheffield City Council. This role is essential in managing forecasting and analytical processes to guarantee adequate school placements in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the forecasting and analysis initiatives to ensure sufficient school places.
- Collaborate with the Education Commissioning Team to provide necessary data for strategic planning.
- Oversee the data submissions for the annual statutory School Capacity (SCAP) return to the Department for Education.
- Engage with various support services within the Early Years, Education, and Skills directorate, including the School Admissions Team.
This role presents an exciting opportunity to positively influence the educational landscape for children in Sheffield. It demands a high level of analytical proficiency and the ability to convey complex information effectively to diverse audiences. Additionally, you may be tasked with supervising the work of an Analyst within the team.
Collaboration:
PAS works in close partnership with various service teams in children's services, ICT, corporate teams, and external organizations such as schools and health services. As a Senior Analyst, you will be part of a supportive and experienced team dedicated to delivering high-quality data and analytical services.
Qualifications:
- A passion for enhancing outcomes for children.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with clients and partners.
- Proficient IT and analytical skills, including knowledge of database information flow and automated reporting.
- Ability to translate client needs into effective reporting tools.
- Basic understanding of data benefits and limitations, along with statistical analysis.
- Competence in analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data.
- Creative problem-solving abilities.
- Capacity to work independently.
- Experience with children's services data is advantageous but not mandatory.
