Head of Automation

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as the Head of Automation at Hawk 3 Talent Solutions. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in driving our business forward by providing strategic leadership and expertise in automation, quality, and safety.
Role Purpose
The Head of Automation will be responsible for developing and implementing effective automation strategies that align with our business objectives. You will work closely with our teams to identify areas for improvement and implement process changes that drive efficiency, quality, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement automation strategies that align with business objectives
- Lead cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and implement process changes
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and alignment
- Provide expert guidance on automation, quality, and safety best practices
- Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and partners
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies
Requirements
- BTEC/HNC (or equivalent) in a related discipline
- NEBOSH National General Certificate or above
- Full knowledge of ISO Occupational Health and Safety Management), ISO 9001 (Quality Systems), and ISO Environmental Systems)
- Working knowledge and full understanding of Health and Safety legislation and practice
- Significant experience and knowledge of Quality Management
- Detailed knowledge of risk assessment and management
- Experience and expertise in APQP / PPAP / PSW processes
- Experience and knowledge of Change Management
- Experience of IATF 16949 and ISO 14001, ISO 45001 auditing
- Background in operations, with extensive HSQ responsibilities
- Experience of multi-site, multi-discipline organisations
- Strong knowledge of QoS / KPIs / PPM
- Strong understanding of D/P FMEA, Control plans, SCs
- Experience of dealing with customers face-to-face
- Experience of chairing internal & external meetings
- Full UK driving licence
- Knowledge and experience of UK manufacturing industry
- Degree qualification in a related discipline
- Flexible approach to work patterns
- Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Expertise in Lean methodology
- Knowledge of Kaizen
- Understanding of 6 Sigma (Black belt)
- Experience of working within the automotive Industry or supply chain
- Working experience of HSQ systems management
- Understanding and experience of 'Train the trainer'
- Experience of mentoring auditors
