The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Fortem Cares. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of our capital works programme, working closely with our client, the Guinness Partnership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting, providing critical support to the success and development of our business.
  • Work in partnership with Operations Management, responsible for the line management of Assistant Quantity Surveyors and accountable for the development of the team.
  • Maximise cash flow through monthly invoicing, implementing appropriate procedures to resolve client queries and ensuring cash is received when due.
  • Monitor and analyse management information and job cost against job revenue, supporting data-driven decision making.
  • Identify potential disputes in a timely manner and report to line manager.
  • Ensure sub-contractor orders accurately reflect main contract requirements and scope of works.

Essential Criteria

  • QS degree or equivalent training and relevant experience.
  • Excellent numeracy and organisation skills.
  • Use data interrogation skills.
  • Excellent IT knowledge, including high-level Excel skills.
  • Contractual awareness.
  • Negotiating and communication skills.
  • Line management experience and the development of people.

Desirable Criteria

  • Working towards MCIOB or RICS membership.
