Job Title: Associate Community Specialist Palliative Care Nurse

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Nurse to join our team as an Associate Community Specialist Palliative Care Nurse. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive and friendly environment, providing expert clinical palliative and end-of-life care to patients in their own homes and care facilities.

The Community Specialist Palliative Care Nursing teams are based across Norwich, North, South, and West Norfolk, working as part of the wider Specialist Palliative Care Service. This includes a consultant-led specialist inpatient unit, a Psychological Therapies team, and a Day Therapies service.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. To deliver evidence-based clinical care for patients with life-threatening illnesses who have complex specialist palliative care needs, under the supervision of the community Specialist Palliative Care Nurses.
  2. To manage their own supervised clinical caseload, supporting patients and their families within their homes and in outpatient settings.
  3. To undertake shifts as part of a clinical team operating the palliative care advice line service, providing clinical support and advice to professionals and patients/carers.
  4. To contribute to audit, education/teaching, and research.
Key Requirements:
  • Diploma in nursing and/or study to degree level or equivalent.
  • Mentorship or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience in specialist palliative care/oncology, with knowledge of healthcare policy and reform relevant to Specialist Palliative Care.
  • Ability to manage situations/environments, with advanced communication skills and knowledge of symptom control.

This is a part-time post, and we require a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes. A Disclosure and Barring Service check will be required for this role.

Salary: £35,392 to £42,618 a year pro rata per annum.
