Pastoral Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pastoral Support professional to join our team at U-educate. As a Pastoral Support specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting the senior leadership team to manage student behaviour in secondary schools based in Southampton.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the senior leadership team in managing student behaviour in KS3 and KS4
- Act as a role model for students and staff, demonstrating high-quality pastoral care and support
- Work in an 'on-call' capacity to ensure students are in their lessons and provide support to classroom teachers as needed
- Remove students from lessons into the internal isolation unit as required
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with young people aged 11-16
- Confidence in managing challenging behaviours and ability to remain calm in difficult situations
- Experience working in an 'on-call' or internal isolation unit
- Ability to engage with students and build rapport
- Implementation and monitoring of behaviour management strategies
- Contribution to school-wide knowledge and skills in behaviour management
- High-level judgment, communication, and emotional intelligence skills
