About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Actuary to join our Capital and Liquidity team at Canada Life Group (UK) Ltd (The). As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in determining, managing, and optimizing the regulatory and economic capital and liquidity requirements for companies in the UK Division.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of capital and liquidity plans, including Stress and Scenario Testing (SST) analyses, capital projections, and sensitivities on a range of capital metrics.
  • Manage the Capital and Liquidity models and contribute to an effective Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Framework.
  • Support the production and review of methodology used to determine regulatory capital requirements and ensure its implementation in models and results produced for regulatory reporting purposes.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of SST results required as part of an effective ERM Framework.
  • Support initiatives to optimize capital/liquidity requirements, reduce earnings volatility, and manage risk exposure in line with company risk appetite, tolerance limits, and overall ERM framework.
Requirements
  • Strong technical skills, including financial reporting or Solvency II knowledge/experience.
  • Good understanding of the UK regulatory environment.
  • Delivery-focused and able to take a pragmatic solution if required.
  • Ability to apply actuarial techniques to business problems and see wider implications.
  • Proven ability to act independently as well as work as part of a wider team.
  • Strong communication skills, able to articulate technical and complex issues clearly to senior audiences.
  • Demonstrated personal drive, energy, persistence, and self-motivation, with awareness of the needs of the wider business.
  • Experience in applying technical expertise to analyze risk, capital, and liquidity information and convert it into management information that is both timely and helpful.
Qualifications

Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (or equivalent).
