Position Overview
As a Tax Associate at RSM, you will collaborate with a diverse range of businesses, from small enterprises to large corporations across various sectors. You will cultivate robust working relationships with clients by gaining a deep understanding of their operations and challenges. Each year, associates participate in multiple team engagements, contributing to various aspects of each assignment rather than focusing on a single component. This collaborative and respectful team atmosphere allows our associates to perform at their best while harmonizing their professional and personal lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Integrating state and local tax services with our existing clientele.
- Conducting tax planning and research activities.
- Gaining insights into state and local tax regulations and accounting standards.
- Evaluating clients' current tax processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend enhancements to optimize their procedures and minimize tax liabilities.
- Collaborating with clients' IT teams to gather historical purchasing and sales data for reporting requirements, audit processes, and potential refunds or credits.
- Assisting clients in assessing sales/use tax software systems that align with their compliance needs and supporting the implementation process.
Basic Qualifications:
- A minimum of a B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Major in Accounting.
- Willingness to travel to client locations as required, with access to reliable transportation.
- A preferred minimum GPA of 3.0.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Progress toward the successful completion of the CPA exam, with opportunities to obtain audit hours necessary for full certification.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work effectively within a team setting.
- Capability to multitask in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

RSM does not intend to hire entry-level candidates who will require sponsorship now or in the future. However, recent U.S. college/university graduates with 1-2 years of relevant work experience may be eligible for consideration as experienced associates.
Compensation Range: $68,640 - $81,900. Individuals selected for this role may be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
