About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Conveyancing Paralegal to join our team at Douglas Scott Legal Recruitment. As a key member of our Conveyancing team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality support to our clients and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Communication: Deal effectively with clients and third parties over the telephone, in written correspondence, and occasionally face-to-face, to provide advice and assistance.
  • Document Management: Be responsible for chasing various documentation, ID, mortgage offers, and searches.
  • Case Management: Keep the case management system and any third-party websites up to date in real-time.
  • Service Delivery: Ensure our clients and introducers of business receive the best possible service at all times.
  • Documentation Preparation: Prepare required documentation as required with the conveyancing process.
  • Completion Packs: Prepare the completion packs for the accounts department, to include completion statements and invoices.
  • Post-Exchange Matters: Deal with post-exchange matters as directed by your team manager.
  • Completions: Be responsible for completions on the day of completion.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to your team and other teams as required.
  • Trial Bundle Preparation: Prepare trial bundle indexes and bundles.
  • Team Participation: Actively participate in meetings and contribute to the success of the team.
Requirements
  • Experience: Prior Conveyancing Paralegal/Assistant experience is essential.
  • IT Skills: Competent in all IT applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Communication Skills: Strong attention to detail and a clear communication style (both written and verbal).
  • Time Management: Good time management skills and the ability to manage and prioritize a range of tasks.
  • Customer Service: Commitment to good customer service.
  • Personality: Good empathy skills and the ability to deal with a range of different personality types when working with clients and witnesses.
  • Targets: Commitment to meeting or exceeding personal targets.
  • Teamwork: Good team player with a willingness to assist colleagues.
  • Personal Qualities: Self-motivated, enthusiastic, committed, and approachable.
  • Pressure Management: Ability to remain calm and professional when under pressure.
